They may never communicate with employees at all levels of the organization to understand their views, problems, grievances, demands, and ideas. The secretary bridges this communication gap by serving as a liaison officer.
- A secretary serves as a liaison officer or connecting link between staff and management, communicating management's policy decisions, plans, and views to staff. He also communicates to management, through positive feedback, the staff's concerns, grievances, requests, obstacles, and solutions for implementing management choices.
