उत्तर
According to Lazarus, when a person confronts a new or changing environment they determine the meaning of the event, trying to judge the situation and its probable influences on them. This process is known as Primary cognitive appraisal. Events may be perceived as positive, negative or neutral in their consequences. Negative events are further appraised for their possible harm, threat or challenge.
