Photosynthesis is the process by which living plant cells, containing chlorophyll, produce food substances (glucose and starch) from carbon dioxide and water by using light energy. Plants release oxygen as a byproduct during photosynthesis.

Explanation
Photosynthesis is the process by which plants make their own food.
Requirements for Photosynthesis:
- Sunlight: Plants require sunlight for photosynthesis, which converts water and carbon dioxide into food.
- Water: Plants absorb water from the soil through their roots. This water is one of the key ingredients that plants use to make food.
- Carbon Dioxide: Plants utilise stomata in their leaves to absorb carbon dioxide from the air, which is then combined with water to produce food.
With these three things - sunlight, water, and carbon dioxide - plants can produce their own food (glucose) and release oxygen into the air. This process is essential for the survival of plants and provides oxygen for other living things, including humans.
