Master of Social Work [M.S.W.]


Eligibility Requirement

• A Graduate from any stream, from any recognized University in India or abroad with not less than 50 percent marks (50%), is eligible to apply for admission to the Masters' of Social Work (MSW) degree course. Candidates must have studied under the 10 + 2 + 3 pattern. • Candidates who have appeared for the final year examination of the Bachelors' degree can also apply in anticipation of the results provided he / she produces University / College marks' / grades' sheet showing an overall average of the marks mentioned above in first two years of the program taken together. In case he / she is unable to produce either the marks of the first two years, or the final vidyapeeth examination marks, by the end of the 1st term his / her admission shall stand rejected. • At the time of applying, those who are awaiting their results should be required to attach a certificate from the college to the effect that they have appeared for the part III / final year examinations. • Evidence, such as, experience in human development organizations or NGOs, awareness of the contemporary social issues and social work values, demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, and motivation for a career as a professional social worker is assessed on the basis of materials attached with the application form. If any statement furnished by the applicant is found incorrect or fabricated at any time, he / she will be debarred from the course. • Marks are awarded to each applicant on the basis of overall percentage of marks secured in the last degree and minimum marks are 50% of the same. However, high academic achievement is not the only criterion on which the candidates will be selected.
