\[ = \hat{ i }  . \hat{ i}  + \hat{ j} . j + \hat{ k }  . \hat{ k } \]
\[ = \left| \hat{ i } \right|^2 + \left| \hat{ j }  \right|^2 + \left| \hat{ k }  \right|^2 \]
= 1 + 1 - 1

= 3
