Options

MCQ
Solution
(34, 2)
Explanation:
A complete work in 20 days
A works 12 hours per day.
∴ Total work = 20 × 12 = 240
Now, A works for 8 hours a day.
B work for 6 hours a day.
So, work done in 2 days = 8 + 6 = 14
∴ No. of days = `240/14 = 17 2/14` = 17 × 2 = 34 days
And `1/7` work remain
So, `1/7 xx 14` = 2 hours
∴ x = 34 and y = 2
