- Distilled water is neutral in nature. To test it, place a tiny amount of distilled water in two test tubes.
- Place blue litmus paper in one test tube and red litmus paper in the other.
- The colour of either blue or red litmus paper does not change, indicating that distilled water is neither acidic nor basic and, hence, neutral.
