Solution

Rent paid to a partner is treated in the same way as rent paid to an outsider. It is considered a normal business expense and is debited to the Profit and Loss Account. It is not transferred to the Profit and Loss Appropriation Account since it is not an appropriation of profit and a partner is not obliged to provide premises for the firm.
