Resolving power of a telescope (R) = `a/(1.22 lambda)`

Where,

a = diameter of the objective and

A = wavelength

  1. When the wavelength of the light increases, the resolving power of the telescope decreases.
  2. When the diameter of the objective increases, the resolving power of the telescope increases.
