How many electrons will flow when a current of 5 amperes is passed through a solution for 200 seconds?

Solution

Given: Current (I) = 5 A

Time (t) = 200 s

We know that,

Q = I × t

= 5 × 200

= 1000 C

From Faraday’s laws,

n = `Q/e`

= `1000/(1.602 xx 10^-19)`

= 6.24 × 1021 electrons
