Solution

Given:
P(A) = 1/2 and P(B) = 1/3
For mutually exclusive events A and B, we have:
P(A or B) = P(A) + P(B)

\[= \frac{1}{2} + \frac{1}{3} = \frac{3 + 2}{6} = \frac{5}{6}\]

Hence,

\[P\left( A \text{ or }  B \right) = \frac{5}{6}\]
