Solution
It is a crystalline solid with no colour (m.p. 387K). It is volatile and sublimates when heated in a nitrogen current. It can be kept in a nickel vessel and is stable when dry and pure. It doesn’t undergo any chemical reaction when dissolved in HF. When water is added, it dissolves to produce XeO3.
