Given length of the perpendicular p = 12
Angle made by the perpendicular α = 30°
The equation the straight line in the normal form is
x cos α + y sin α = p
∴ The required equation of the straight line is
x cos 30° + y sin 30° = 12
`x sqrt(3)/2 + y xx 1/2` = 12
`sqrt(3)x + y` = 24
