Solution

Chlorine reacts with dry slaked lime Ca(OH)2 to form bleaching powder. When aqueous sodium chloride is electrolysed, chlorine is created.

  1. G: Cl2, C: CaOCl2
  2. Ca(OH)2 + Cl2 → CaOCl2 + H2O
  3. Bleaching powder
