Solution

Given: Volume of solution = 150 cm3 = 0.150 L

Molarity = `M/2` = 0.5 M

Acid = HCl (monoprotic acid)

Molar mass of HCl = 36.5 g/mol

Mass of solute = Molarity × Molar mass × Volume (L)

Mass = 0.5 × 36.5 × 0.150

= 2.7375 g

∴ 2.74 g of HCl is present in 150 cm3 of `M/2` solution.
