# An Angle is Equal to Five Times Its Complement. Determine Its Measure. - Mathematics

An angle is equal to five times its complement. Determine its measure.

#### Solution

Let the complement of the required angle measures x°

Therefore, the required angle becomes 5x°

Since, the angles are complementary, thus, their sum must be equal to 90°.

Or we can say that :

x + 5x = 90°

6x =  90°

x = (90°)/6

x  = 15°`

Hence, the required angle becomes:

5x =5(15°)

= 75°
