We have, p2 – q + r + (q2 – r + p) + (r2 – p + q)
= p2 – q + r + q2 – r + p + r2 – p + q
On combining the like terms,
= p2 + q2 + r2 – q + q + r – r + p – p
= p2 + q2 + r2 + 0 + 0 + 0
= p2 + q2 + r2
