Solution

Given: Initial volume V1 = 150 cm3 = 0.150 L

Initial molarity M1 = 0.1 mol/L (decimolar)

Final volume V2 = 750 cm3 = 0.750 L

Final molarity M2 = ?

M1V1 = M2V2

⇒ 0.1 × 0.150 = M2 × 0.750

`M_2 = 0.015/0.750`

= 0.02 mol/L

∴ Molarity of the diluted solution is 0.02 mol/L.
