Today, I would like talk about one of the most important donations one can make to save people - blood donation. A person can donate blood thrice in a year. The blood that is donated is thoroughly checked and stored in a secured form. Many people harbour misunderstandings regarding this. They feel that by donating blood, they might fall sick. But it is not true. The blood one gives is automatically regenerated by the body within a few days.
Blood cannot be stored for a long time, which is why blood banks are in constant need of it. With each donation, you give one pint of blood, which amounts to around 450 ml and can save up to three human lives. Donation of blood hardly takes a few minutes of your time. But someone will be grateful for those few minutes of yours for the rest of their life. It is a noble act and a huge contribution to the society. So friends, let us make a promise to donate blood at least once a year and make our lives more meaningful.
