Respected Principal, teachers and my dear friends.
Our college’s NCC unit has undertaken a cleanliness drive in our town Vishramwadi. The drive is an initiative to upgrade the health and hygiene conditions in and around our town.
‘Cleanliness is next to godliness.’ Keeping the surroundings and environment clean and hygienic is the responsibility of every citizen, both individually and collectively.
The number of people hospitalised due to water and air borne diseases in our town is at an all-time high. The primary culprit behind this epidemic is the air we breathe and the water we drink. The surrounding areas of our town are littered with garbage. The toilets are not kept clean and the river has gathered a lot of trash on its bank. Lack of hygiene has lead to pollution and aggravated the spread of diseases.
However, rather than being a mute spectator, we’ve decided to take charge of the situation. We plan to clean the entire town in three phases. The first phase will be setting up a proper waste management system, the second phase will be cleaning of the river bank and other natural resources and the last phase will be upgrading and maintaining sanitary facilities available for people. As the captain of the NCC unit of the college, I urge you to join this campaign.
It is our moral responsibility that we put a stop to these unhealthy practices and pave the way for a bright future of Vishramwadi. I hope that all of you would extend your support in this endeavour.
