उत्तर

If x < 0, |x| = −x

∴ `lim_(x → 0^-) f(x) = lim_(x → 0^-) (x/|x|) = lim_(x → 0^-)(-x)/x = -1`

And if x > 0, |x| = x

∴ `lim_(x → 0^+) f(x) = lim_(x → 0^+) (x/|x|) = lim_(x → 0^+) x/x = 1`

∴ `lim_(x → 0^-) f(x) ≠ lim_(x → 0^+) f(x)`

Hence, the equation does not exist at x = 0.
