उत्तर
Salt hydrolysis : The reaction between a salt and water to produce an acid or a base is called salt hydrolysis or hydrolysis. By hydrolysis the salt, we can find out its parent acid and parent base.
For example : \[\ce{NaCI + H2O -> Na+ + CI-}\]
Salt which are acidic :
(i) Ammonium sulphate
(ii) Ammonium chloride
Salt which are basic :
(i) Potassium carbonate
(ii) Sodium acetate
Salt which are neutral:
(i) Ammonium acetate
(ii) Ammonium Carbonate.
