Template strand	Coding strand
It is also called the antisense or (-) strand or master strand.	It is also called the sense or (+) or non-template strand.
The template strand of DNA acts as a template for the synthesis of mRNA during transcription.	Coding strand is a sequence of DNA that has the same base sequence as that of mRNA (except thymine, which is replaced by uracil in DNA).
It has 3’ → 5’ polarity.	It has 5’ → 3’ polarity.
