उत्तर १
When a ligand attaches to the metal ion to form a ring, the metal-ligand association is found to be more stable. In other words, we can say that complexes containing chelate rings are more stable than complexes without rings. This is known as the chelate effect.

उत्तर २
A chelate ligand is defined as a di or polydentate ligand that employs two or more donor atoms to coordinate with a single metal ion. The quantity of such ligating groups is referred to as the denticity of the ligand. Chelate complexes are generally more stable than analogous complexes with unidentate ligands.
