The two safety precautions to be taken while handling radioactive substances are (any two):
- Radioactive substances should be kept in thick lead containers with a very narrow opening so as to restrict the radiations coming out from other directions.
- Radioactive materials should be handled with long lead tongs.
- People working with radioactive substances should put on special lead-lined aprons and lead gloves.
