उत्तर
AB = CD
AB2 = CD2
(- 6 + 3)2 + (a + 2)2 = (0 + 3)2 + (- 1 + 4)2
9 + a2 + 4 + 4a = 9 + 9
a2 + 4a - 5 = 0
a2 - a + 5a - 5 = 0
a(a - 1) + 5 (a - 1) = 0
(a - 1) (a + 5) = 0
a = 1 or - 5
It is given that a is negative, thus the value of a is - 5.
