उत्तर
Ice floats in water and not in alcohol. This is because the density of ice is `"0.917g"/"cc"` which is lower than that of water which is 1. Whereas, the density of ethanol (alcohol) is only `"0.789g"/"cc " `which is lesser than ice, hence it floats in alcohol.

(ii) State how the magnitudes of two forces mentioned in part (i) determine whether the body will float or sink in liquid when it is released. (iii) What is the net force on the body if it (a) sinks and (b) floats?
