Troposphere	0–12 km	We live here. Weather, clouds, rain and winds occur in this layer.
Stratosphere	12–50 km	Contains the ozone layer, which protects life from harmful UV rays.
Mesosphere	50–80 km	Most meteors burn up here before reaching Earth.
Thermosphere	80–700 km	Absorbs harmful solar radiation and helps in radio communication through the ionosphere.
Exosphere	700 km and above	The outermost layer gradually merges with outer space and contains many satellites.
