Basis F. W. Taylor Henry Fayol 
1. Perspective  He worked from the bottom to the top level. The study focused on the operator at the workshop.  He worked from the top down, emphasizing unity of command, unity of direction, coordination, and related principles. He was concerned with the overall administration of the enterprise.
2. Unity of Command  He recommended a function that violates the unity of command. He advocated the unity of command so that each worker receives an order from a single supervisor. 
3. Applicability  Taylor’s scientific management is applicable only to industrial organizations.  Fayol’s principles have universal application
4. Formation of Principles  His principles are based on observation and experimentation.  His principles were drawn from his personal experience of managing organizations.
