1. Elastic fibers:

1. It contains elastin and other proteins and glycoproteins.
2. It attaches muscles and bones and one bone to another bone.
3. It withstands tensile stress when pulling force is applied in one direction or in many directions.

2. Elastic connective tissue:

1. It contains high proportion of elastic fibers.
2. It is found in the walls of large arteries, ligaments associated with the vertebral column and within the walls of the bronchial tubes.
3. It allows recoil of tissues after stretching.
