- It contains elastin and other proteins and glycoproteins.

2. Elastic connective tissue:
- It contains high proportion of elastic fibers.
- It is found in the walls of large arteries, ligaments associated with the vertebral column and within the walls of the bronchial tubes.
- It allows recoil of tissues after stretching.
