उत्तर
Weight of solid in air = 2.10 N
Relative density of solid = 8.4
Now, Relative density = weight of solid in air/ loss of weight of solid in water.
Loss of weight of solid in water = weight of solid in air/ Relative density.
Loss of weight of solid in water = 2.10/8.4 = 0.25 N.
Weight of solid in water = weight in air - loss of weight in water
Weight of solid in water = 2.10 - 0.25 =1.85 N.

What do you understand by atmospheric pressure?
At sea level, the atmospheric pressure is 1.04 x 105 Pa. Assuming g = 10 m s-2 and density of air to be uniform and equal to 1.3 kg m-3, find the height of the atmosphere.
What is meant by the term ‘Atmospheric Pressure’?
Atmospheric pressure at sea level is 76 cm of mercury. Calculate the vertical height of the air column exerting the above pressure. Assume the density of air 1.29 kgm−3 and that of mercury is 13600 kgm−3. Why the height calculated by you is far less than the actual height of the atmosphere?
If there is low pressure at the equator, what will be the condition of air pressure in the Arctic Zone?

Define one atmosphere.
What is meant by atmospheric pressure?

Humans are sensitive even to a small variations in pressure.
