Sum
Advertisements

Solution

Let x = 2.514   ...(1)

Multiplying both sides by 1000, we get

1000x = 2514.514    ...(2)

Subtracting (1) from (2), we get

∴ 1000x - x = 2514.514 - 2.514

∴ 999x = 2512

`therefore x = 2512/999`

So, 2.514 = `2512/999`
