  1. Sulphuric acid is used in the manufacture of fertilisers (such as ammonium sulphate), paints, dyes, chemicals, plastics, synthetic fibres, detergents, explosives, and car batteries.
  2. Nitric acid is used to make fertilisers (such as ammonium nitrate), explosives such as Trinitrotoluene (TNT), dyes, and plastics.
  3. Hydrochloric acid is used to remove oxide films from steel objects (before they are galvanised) and to remove scale deposits from inside boilers. It is also used in dye-stuffs, textiles, food and leather industries.
