# If I is the Unit Matrix of Order 2 X 2. Find the Matrix M Such That 5m + 3i = 4(2, -5),(0, -3) - Mathematics

Sum

If I is the unit matrix of order 2 x 2. Find the matrix M such that

5M + 3I  = 4[(2, -5),(0, -3)]

#### Solution

5M + 3I  = 4[(2, -5),(0, -3)]

5M = 4[(2, -5),(0, -3)] - 3[(1, 0),(0, 1)]

5M =  [(8, -20),(0, -12)] - [(3,0),(0, 3)]

5M = [(5, -20),(0, -15)]

M = 1/5[(5, -20), (0, -15)] = [(1, -4),(0, -3)]
