उत्तर

Let x = `15.bar89`    ...(1)

Multiplying both sides by 100, we get

100x = `1589.bar89`   ...(2)

Subtracting (1) from (2), we get

∴ 100x − x = `1589.bar89 − 15.bar89`

∴ 99x = 1574

`therefore x =  1574/99 `

So, `15.bar89 = 1574/99`

Add the following rational numbers.

\[\frac{- 8}{11} and \frac{- 4}{11}\]

Add the following rational numbers:

\[\frac{31}{- 4} and \frac{- 5}{8}\]

Simplify:

\[1 + \frac{- 4}{5}\]

Subtract the first rational number from the second in each of the following:

\[\frac{- 7}{9}, \frac{4}{9}\]

Evaluate each of the following:

\[- \frac{4}{7} - \frac{2}{- 3}\]

What should be added to \[\frac{- 7}{8}\]  so as to get \[\frac{5}{9}?\]

Simplify each of the following and write as a rational number of the form \[\frac{p}{q}:\]

\[\frac{- 4}{5} + \frac{- 7}{10} + \frac{- 8}{15}\]

Express each of the following as a rational number of the form \[\frac{p}{q}:\]

\[\frac{- 8}{3} + \frac{- 1}{4} + \frac{- 11}{6} + \frac{3}{8} - 3\]

Multiply:

\[\frac{7}{11} \text{by} \frac{5}{4}\]

Simplify:

\[\left( \frac{- 9}{4} \times \frac{5}{3} \right) + \left( \frac{13}{2} \times \frac{5}{6} \right)\]

Fill in the blanks:

\[\frac{- 4}{5} \times \left( \frac{5}{7} + \frac{- 8}{9} \right) = \left( \frac{- 4}{5} \times . . . . . \right) \times \frac{- 8}{9}\]

Find the value and express as a rational number in standard form:

\[\frac{- 40}{99} \div ( - 20)\]

Mark the following pairs of rational numbers on the separate number lines: `1/4 "and" - 5/4`

Insert a rational number between:

8 and 8.04

Ravi multiplied `25/8` and `16/15` to obtain `400/120`. He says that the simplest form of this product is `10/3` and Chandru says the answer in the simplest form is `3 1/3`. Who is correct? (or) Are they both correct? Explain
