Composition of Municipal Corporation:
- General Council formed of elected members known as Municipal Councillors.
- The Mayor is elected by the Municipal Councillors and, in some cases, by Aldermen (nominated members). The Mayor presides over the meetings of the Corporation.
- The Standing Committee includes members of the general council through elections.
- The Municipal Commissioner is appointed by the Governor, usually for 5 years.
