Method of election of members of Municipal Corporation/Council.

Each Municipal Corporation includes the following category of members:

1. Directly elected members from the area of Municipal Corporation:
   1. The entire area of a large city is divided into wards.
   2. Each ward elects one member.
   3. These members are chosen through direct elections.
   4. The strength of directly elected members depends on the population size of the urban area.
2. Ex officio members: MLAs (Members of State Legislative Assembly) who represent parts of the area covered by the Municipal Corporation are also included.
