What does the intensity of sound depend upon?

The intensity of sound is directly proportional to the square of the amplitude of vibration. If the amplitude is increased, the sound becomes more intense (louder).
Mathematically: I ∝ A2 (where I is intensity and A is amplitude).
In addition to amplitude, other factors that affect the perceived loudness of sound include:
- Distance from the Source: The intensity of sound decreases as you move further away from the source of the sound.
- Surface Area: A larger vibrating surface area generally produces a sound with greater intensity.
