From the weighing balance, we have

= ∗ +

⇒  = 4 +    ...(i)

And + = + I + + + ∗

⇒ 20 + 20 = 2 + 14 + + 4

⇒ 40 = 2 + 18 + 4 +   ...(Using (i))

⇒ 40 = 3 + 22

⇒ 3 = 40 – 22

⇒ 3 = 18

= 6 kg

From equation (i), = (4 + 6) kg = 10 kg
