From the weighing balance, we have

⇒ 40 = 2 + 18 + 4 + ...(Using (i))
⇒ 40 = 3 + 22
⇒ 3 = 40 – 22
⇒ 3 = 18
⇒ = 6 kg
From equation (i), = (4 + 6) kg = 10 kg
