उत्तर

The chemical formula of plaster of Paris is CaSO4.1/2H2O.

Explanation:

Plaster of Paris is obtained by heating gypsum (CaSO4 . 2H2O) carefully to a specific temperature of 373 K. At this temperature, the gypsum loses three-fourths of its water of crystallisation to form a white powder. When mixed back with water, it rehydrates and sets quickly into a hard, solid mass of gypsum.
