The following are some advantages of agricultural diversification:

  1. Minimisation of market risk: Crop diversification increases the production of multiple crops rather than only one crop. It has reduced the market risk brought on by price fluctuations.
  2. Increase in income: The income of people living in rural regions has increased as a result of crop diversification, such as the multi-cropping pattern, and diversification of production activities, such as animal husbandry, fisheries, and horticulture.
