    1. When silver nitrate solution is added to hydrochloric acid, it gives a white precipitate of silver chloride.
    2. When lead nitrate solution is added, it gives a white precipitate of lead chloride.
    3. When concentrated hydrochloric acid is added to oxidising agents like manganese dioxide, lead dioxide, etc., it liberates chlorine gas, which is a greenish-yellow, pungent-smelling gas.
