\[\ce{\underset{\text{2-butyne}}{CH3 - C ≡ C - CH3}->[AgNO3][NH4OH] No reaction}\]

\[\ce{\underset{\text{1 - butyne}}{CH3 - CH2 - C ≡ CH} ->[AgNO3][NH4OH] \underset{\text{Silver acetylide}}{CH3 - CH2 - C ≡ CAg}}\]

1 – butyne reacts with ammoniacal AgNO3 solution it forms white precipitate of silver acetylide but, 2 – butyne doesnot reacts with ammoniacal AgNO3 solution.
