The main effects of green house effect are as follows:
- Gradual increase in temperature of the earth's surface and the lower atmosphere.
- Photosynthesis, water use efficiency and yield of plants decline.
- There will be food shortage due to shortage of agricultural crops.
- Sudden change in climate causes cyclones and other natural disasters.
- A rise in temperature would lead to the melting and disintegration of ice sheets. This will increase sea level by 16 to 20 feet.
