Let the coordinates of A and B be 3 and 6, respectively.
The co-ordinate of the first point is 3.
The co-ordinate for the second point are 6.
Since 6 > 3
∴ Distance between the points = d(A, B) = 6 – 3
∴ d(A, B) = 3
