In India, the Second Green Revolution has two strategies:

- Diversification of Agriculture: To raise nutritional standards and income, concentrate on diversifying beyond main crops like wheat and rice to include oil seeds, pulses, and horticulture.
- Use of Biotechnology: Introduction of genetically modified crops with the goals of boosting productivity, disease and pest resistance, and climate adaptability.
