उत्तर
(i) The counsellor will most likely use the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children (WISC) to assess individual intelligence. The WISC evaluates both verbal and nonverbal ability in children aged 6 to 16. It is widely used in schools to assess giftedness, learning challenges, and behavioral issues.
(ii) Verbal Subtest - Similarities
This subtest asks children to explain how two things are similar. For example, “How are a cat and a dog alike?” It measures abstract thinking, verbal reasoning, and concept generation.
- Performance Subtest 1 - Block Design
Children are given colored blocks and shown designs to recreate under a set time restriction. It measures visual-spatial capabilities, problem-solving abilities, and motor coordination. - Performance Subtest 2 - Picture Arrangement
Children are encouraged to arrange photographs in a logical order to make a story. The test measures a child’s knowledge of social settings, sequential reasoning, and planning abilities.
