Let the food last for x days. According to question,

Number of days 6 x
Number of animals 20 30

Since the given problem is in inverse proportion.

∴ 6 × 20 = x × 30

⇒ `(6xx20)/30` = x

⇒ 4 = x

Therefore, the required number of days is 4.
